Apple Music
- Open Settings in MusicMall.
- Authorize Apple Music access.
- Search the catalog from My Collection.
- Add an eligible album to My Collection.
Catalog streaming requires eligible authorization, subscription, network access, and item availability.
Local albums
- Open Settings.
- Choose Open Files or Scan Local Audio Files.
- Select an album or artist folder.
- Find imported albums in My Collection.
MusicMall keeps original source files intact and may retain access through a security-scoped bookmark.
Add lyrics
- Select or start a song.
- Open Lyrics in Now Playing.
- Tap Add Lyrics.
- Choose an LRC or TXT file.
MusicMall Public uses user-selected lyrics files and does not search online lyrics services.
Authorization, catalog, and personal library
Authorize access
- Open Settings in MusicMall.
- Find Apple Music and choose the authorization action.
- Approve the iOS prompt.
- Return to MusicMall to see authorization and playback eligibility.
Authorization does not guarantee catalog playback. Catalog streaming requires an eligible subscription, network access, and continued availability. MusicMall never asks for an Apple Account password.
Browse the catalog
- Open My Collection and select the Apple Music Catalog search scope.
- Search for an artist or album.
- Open an artist or album to see details and tracks.
- Choose Add to My Collection.
Adding an album stores identifiers, metadata, artwork, and MusicMall customizations. It does not download Apple Music streaming audio.
Personal iPhone Music Library
Open Settings → Apple Music → iPhone Music Library to browse Albums, Artists, and Songs. Eligible purchased or computer-synced media may work without a catalog subscription. Cloud-only, protected, unavailable, or inaccessible items may not play.
Import from Files
- Open Settings.
- Use Open Files for an album folder, or Scan Local Audio Files → Choose Folder to Scan for a larger artist folder.
- Select the folder in Apple's Files picker.
- Keep the storage provider available while MusicMall scans.
- Find imported albums in My Collection.
MusicMall supports common compatible formats including MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC, and ALAC. Keep each album's tracks and artwork together. If access later expires, reconnect the provider and select the folder again.
Other transfer methods
- Wi-Fi Transfer: send files or folders from a computer browser on the same trusted network.
- File Sharing/Cable Transfer: copy files through Finder, then scan MusicMall files.
- AirDrop/Open In: send compatible files to MusicMall.
My Collection, Side A, and Side B
Open an album to inspect tracks, choose a song, and use available vinyl customization. MusicMall splits tracks into Side A and Side B. For supported sources, the end of Side A continues through MusicMall's flip behavior to the first track on Side B. The final track on Side B stops without wrapping to Side A.
The album sleeve can flip between front and back. A valid back cover appears when available; otherwise MusicMall can generate a back presentation from the front artwork and Side A/Side B track list. Removing an album from My Collection removes its MusicMall record, not the original file in Files or content from Apple Music.
Add or replace lyrics
When a song has no lyrics
- Start or select the song.
- Open Lyrics in Now Playing.
- Tap Add Lyrics.
- Choose an
.lrcor.txtfile in Files. - The lyrics stay associated with the selected song after reopening MusicMall.
Replace existing lyrics
- Open the song's Lyrics view.
- Tap the ••• menu.
- Choose Add Lyrics.
- Select the replacement file and confirm replacement.
A valid LRC file can show synchronized lyrics using timestamps. A TXT file displays plain text without timed highlighting. Select only lyrics you have permission to use. MusicMall Public does not search LRCLIB or NetEase online.
Wi-Fi Transfer
- Connect the iPhone and computer to the same trusted Wi-Fi network.
- Open Settings → Wi-Fi Transfer.
- Turn the server on and allow Local Network access if iOS asks.
- Open the local address displayed by MusicMall in the computer browser.
- Enter the temporary pairing code.
- Choose files or an album folder and upload them.
- Keep the browser and transfer screen open until transfer and scanning finish.
- Turn Wi-Fi Transfer off when finished.
Each uploaded file is limited to 512 MB and failed pairing attempts are temporarily limited. Wi-Fi Transfer uses plain HTTP, not encrypted HTTPS. Use it only on a trusted private network and never share the pairing code.
If the page does not open, verify both devices use the same non-isolated network, allow Local Network access for MusicMall and the computer browser, keep the transfer screen open, and avoid guest Wi-Fi that blocks device-to-device traffic.
Lock Screen, widget, and External Audio
During supported playback, MusicMall publishes track information and controls to iOS. The Home Screen widget reads a small local snapshot shared with the app; it does not contain a separate audio engine. If widget information is stale, open MusicMall, select or start the intended album, then allow WidgetKit time to refresh.
External Audio Settings selects a supported file or folder for the exterior or ambient experience; it is not an album import. If the source moves or loses permission, select it again. Starting main album playback should stop incompatible ambient audio.
Common problems
Check authorization, an eligible subscription, network access, storefront availability, and the same item in Apple's Music app.
The item may be cloud-only, protected, or missing a usable local asset. Syncing an eligible local copy through Music or Finder may help.
Reconnect the Files provider or storage, rescan local audio, and reselect the folder if iOS permission expired.
Use reliable track/disc metadata or numbered filenames, then rescan and check album edit controls.
MusicMall Public searches only local saved lyrics and user-selected files. Add an LRC or TXT file for the selected song.
Use the same trusted network, verify Local Network permission on iPhone and computer browser, and avoid isolated guest networks.
